  3. Hi guys, Pete here, the guy from Nova Scotia you met on the trail. The last time I saw you it was in Erwin at the Super 8. I was pleased to find your blog and to read that you completed the whole thing. I got as far as 900 miles and developed a heart problem that took me out of the adventure, 2014 is when I hope to restart. I hope your settling in to civilisation after being forest people for so long. I have to say you guys were the nicest couple I met on my three month journey, so I am truly happy to know you’re safe and healthy. I hope that whatever you learned or discovered while on the trail will change or enhance your lives whether it be a financial reward or cementing your lives together and having the knowledge, strength and will to overcome all the challenges life throws at you. I wish you all the best.

  4. Hey Pete!

I'm so glad that you found us on here!! We've discussed multiple times how sad we were that we didn't exchange contact information. It's been somewhat of a challenge adjusting back home. After so many months of excitement, spontaneity, and activity, it's nevertheless different being back on the job search and the daily grind. However, the trail has taught us so much and will forever be a part of who we are. It was the best decision that we could have possibly made. I'm saddened to hear that you had a heart problem. I hope that you are feeling much better and are recovering quickly. And hey, 900 miles is a loooong walk!

We both really enjoyed your company over the short period of time that we spent together. It brings us great joy that we have made a new friend that we can look back on with great memories. The conversations we had along the trail, in Helen, and in Erwin have stuck with us. We found ourselves saying to each other, "I hope we see Pete again. We miss him!" You were truly one of the kindest people we have met along the trail, as well. Hopefully we can reunite when you're back in the states or if we come visit Nova Scotia. I hear its beautiful up there. :)
